Overview
Azure Network Watcher is a comprehensive network monitoring and diagnostic service that provides tools to monitor, diagnose, and gain insights into your network performance. It helps you troubleshoot network issues, monitor network security, and optimize network performance.
Core Functionality
Network Monitoring
- Network Topology: Visualize your network’s configuration and relationships using the Topology tool. Understand the network’s structure and identify potential issues.
- Connection Monitor: Track the performance and connectivity between different endpoints in your network. Identify latency issues and connectivity problems.
- Traffic Analysis: Enable NSG flow logs to capture information about the traffic flowing through your network security groups. Use Traffic Analytics to analyze these logs and gain insights into traffic patterns, detect anomalies, and optimize network performance.
Network Diagnostics
- IP Flow Verify: Troubleshoot traffic filtering issues and verify the flow of IP traffic to and from a virtual machine.
- NSG Diagnostics: Analyze security rules and diagnose network security group (NSG) issues.
- Packet Capture: Capture packet data to analyze network traffic and troubleshoot issues at a detailed level.
