Networking¶
Networking is the shared connectivity every workload depends on: how networks connect, how addresses are allocated, how names resolve, and how traffic reaches the internet and private services. The platform owns the shared parts. Workloads connect to them.
Status: mostly planned
Two platform subscriptions exist: connectivity-prod-westeu-00 (under mg-connectivity, currently holding only a resource group) and networking-prod-westeu-00 (holding the public DNS zone). No hub network, firewall or private DNS is deployed yet. Current workloads, such as Static Web Apps, don't need one.
- Network Topology: hub-and-spoke or Virtual WAN, and when to build it.
- IP Address Management: the address plan, and how ranges are allocated to workloads.
- DNS: public zones today, private DNS for private endpoints later.
- Private Endpoints and Egress: keeping PaaS services off the internet, and controlling outbound traffic.
